Well, now you have me wondering - does this count as a flight segment for earning BA tier status. I am a very high EXP with no hope of ever getting CK, so I have been toying with shooting for GGL on BA.

I usually just park in short term unless i am traveling for > 4 nights somewhere. This could change the math a bit on stretching to GGL for the 5K TP once, the 3K i should easily achieve as ongoing.
