I've been following this thread for some time now, but never contacted Amex asking for one on any of my cards. Just now I went into the chat mode on the app and inquired because I couldn't get through with both telephone numbers that have been posted in this thread. They just leave you on hold with no background music. The customer service rep in the main online chat had to usher in an agent that could assist me.

They asked a lot of questions and just told them the truth on why I'm considering cancelling the platinum card. My annual fee is coming up in July.

Well, the agent sent me the offer and I was sort of surprised since I told them that I use many of their offerings except Uber, Hotel Credit (didn't use it so far this year), and many others.

My offer was for 50,000 membership points after I spend $4,000 within 3 months. That will be super easy. So, it will offset most of my annual fee coming up, when I book some upcoming flights once the 50,000 points post.
