It looks like the SGS was able to recover the guests record from the Starwood period. I found out when I recently received a nice upgrade certificate for a specialty suite.
I have probably as many stays at the other Luxury Collection property in Bangkok (The Athenee), but there is a sharp contrast with the way the SGS has been treating me.
The Athenee's management, on the Operations side, is "unusual" (and that's an euphemism) for a Marriott hotel in Thailand.
The turnover at the Athenee has been very high for quite some time, so the new staff do not often recognize the repeat guests.
The SGS, for the most part, has been more stable at the staff level, although apparently, recently a bunch of people left the hotel, with some that went to the Anantara Riverside, probably to get higher positions.
I was told that Mr. Chapman was at the hotel a few weeks ago, for the hotel anniversary celebration.
