I have never used AX because they are not UA transfer partner. But based on friedablass' post I should consdsider getting AX platinum.
Specifically Business Platinum and I select UA as my preferred airline to get 35% rebate on points when using MR to pay for the ticket. You also earn miles and PQP just as if you bought the ticket from UA directly.
