Recently finished a long weekend stay here. Booked two Club Ocean View Master Kings and one Ziva Suite. Both the club rooms were upgraded to Ocean View One Bedroom Master Suites but no further upgrade for the suite. I mentioned in a pre-arrival email and at check in that we were here for a birthday and anniversary. When we got to the room of the birthday person, there was a little dessert on the table. The one bedroom suites were nice and spacious but a little dated. The Ziva Suite was fine.
Pros:
Staff was nice and welcoming and the service was great.
No towel game shenanigans. We would look from the balcony around 9am and there were plenty of unoccupied chairs in the main pool area.
The club was rarely busy. The smaller portions made it easy to pop in every now and then for snacks. Someone in our group noticed the cocktails were marginally better than the ones being served at the pools. Aside from the club having more premium options, the club bartenders likely have more time and less pressure than the pool bartenders who are probably constantly making drinks.
Mid:
Certain dishes were better than others, but ultimately, the food felt pretty average. We tried everything except for El Molino, Hacienda Baja Grill, and Dozo (the actual restaurant, as we had reservations for the teppanyaki part of it).
Cons:
Everything was loud. It did not help that our rooms were near the stairs and elevators, but we heard people's conversations in the hallway to the music blasting from the pool area.
No comment about the gym, housekeeping, or in-suite dining since we (or at least our room) did not opt in for those services. It did not affect us, but for those planning on staying here between now and early next year, Tower B/Building 2 will be closed for renovations.
