Just today, purser brought me J nightcap in W while almost shouting « here is your glass of water ». That was a new one, and I’m pretty sure no one would have cared if he’d just handed out the paper cup silently.
This seems like such an incredibly Dutch thing where they cannot reward 'prestige' or 'status', but when it's blatant friend favors it's entirely OK. I'm honestly pretty over KLM's 'service' — most every J flight people pay thousands for Janneke to stand in the galley on her phone with zero proactive care for their customers. The fact that they feel like couching their extra little bits of attention to special customers in some kind of excuse is even more grating.
