Once he has cash he can put some of it into a TMoney card (you need some cash to initially buy a TMoney card - about 4,0000 - but it can then be topped up by bank card - note that a TMoney card is going to be way more useful in Seoul than the boonies)
I was just in Seoul and saw those all over the place, and couldn't figure out what they were for. It said "Spend like a local" or something like that - but I found virtually every place took regular credit cards. I only needed cash for Tmoney top ups and food vendors at the markets.
Was there something about those Wowpass things that I'm missing?
