Agents seem to have gotten really incompetent recently with regards to assigning blocked J seats.
I've always been able to get blocked seats on 2 class 777s assigned as a Plat by saying I will move if requested. Recently I've tried getting 1A and 1J assigned but multiple agents have told me it's not possible, for a variety of nonsensical reasons.
One told me that they need to email reservations for permission. Another told me they can't assign because it's blocked and to ask the flight attendant onboard (Lol). And the last one told me it is just not showing available on his side. They all seemed pretty clueless and unable to follow clear instructions on other requests. What's going on here? Was there a recent policy change or something?
If anything, the agents that Plats are getting connected to are an embarrassment.
Strange. Only 2 days ago I successfully got them to give me 6K on a 77W which is always blocked. Was no issue at all.
And I’m not even Plat….
