Ironmanjt, I believe you are misinterpreting the non rev rule for discounted/employee united tickets. A reward ticket on a star alliance partner with *G status does allow access (plus one guest]. This applies to UC and not lounges with special entry rules such as Polaris. Just as the parallel situation of *G access to a MLL.
