You're going to get a lot of snark. You have a higher probability of getting a late checkout with Marriott than Hilton. Hilton's dining credit nonsense is nearly universal in the US, whereas more Marriott hotels will actually give a true free breakfast, yes, even in the US. With Hilton, top tier status can be bought with a credit card - the same isn't true with Marriott. Titaniums and Ambassadors will get upgrade priority over Platinums (if the hotel is running things correctly).
