I don’t think CX is constrained by the bilateral agreement in terms of its flights to Canada. YVR will be increased to 2 daily in the preliminary 24/25 winter season. It is still about CX’s crew resources.
I guess I might have been overthinking or reading too much into the Canada comments. Upon further reflection, 2x to both YVR and YYZ seems about right to me during the medium term, and it's not difficult to think of other destinations (not in Canada) that make more sense than Calgary.
