The Wiki says:
the T&C states that you must either be one of the passengers or the credit card booking the tickets be in your name. One poster mentioned that he did not travel or use his credit card when he let his father use it. However it that case I believe they shared the same last name.
Is this still true? I have a companion cert that a same last name family member would like to use. She has her own brand new Alaska card to pay for the trip and get free bags.

Because you can only have exactly TWO people on the reservation if you want to use the companion certificate, I had to put traveller #3 on a separate reservation. There were no more three seats together in the peasant section that #3 (peasant no status) has access to. So I chatted an agent to put all three of us forward to the elite section (not first or premium). It was done easily and quickly.
This restriction interferes with the AS credit card benefit of free bags for up to 6 people on a reservation paid for using the card. Is there a work-around to get the free bag for a third person booked on the same flights?
