Made a return visit to the Fufu Nikko, paired with the Ritz Carlton Nikko. I won't comment on the Ritz Carlton in this thread, but pairing the Fufu with the Ritz is a nice combination for those who want to spend a few days in Nikko. We did not rent a car, but the taxi ride to/from Lake Chuzenji to the Tobu Nikko station area was around 8000jpy.

We were able to try the teppanyaki course this time around, which included a seasonal add-on of awabi. It was the largest awabi I've seen in a while and was delicious. I'd also recommend the massage service. The Fufu does not have an on-premise spa, but is able to arrange a type of shiatsu massage from a local third party. 90 minutes = 11,000jpy. The property continues to be well-maintained and the service is impeccable. My sense was that they've also hired a few more English-speaking staff.
