The T series is meant to be the standard-issue laptop for enterprise.

I did immediately order a replacement after the spill just in case and for grins I installed it yesterday because it looked so much better than the 12 year old one. I used a hotel key card to slide the trim piece back, then just unscrewed the keyboard from the top. No need to turn the laptop over, and they were nice enough to use captive screws, so no screws flying all over the place.

I looked up keyboard replacement on a Macbook Pro on iFixit, but they don't have any guides for it, so I'm assuming it's non-repairable. Their guide for replacing the trackpad required 23 steps just to disassemble it. The T540p was two: 1) slide trim piece forward, 2) unscrew screws on the top-side of the keyboard.
