Through a previous post in this thread, I was able to find a page you can see in the screenshot below, by Googling "Qatar 'through check' courtesy." This link that showed up was from the NZ site, but I couldn't find anything on the USA (where I will be flying from) site. It should be a global courtesy, correct? I'm probably reading into it too much, but just making sure it's not a country-to-country courtesy.

For reference, I am flying business class DFW-DOH, then 13 hour layover before DOH-VCE on separate tickets... staying at the Oryx hotel in between, so hopefully will not have to leave the airport. We will most likely not have checked bags. If any mods see this, I apologize- I created a new thread about this yesterday, not seeing this thread first.
