I've flown AY long haul economy quite a few times since and not been served fish. It has mostly been vegetarian, beef or chicken. Recent meals were Spaghetti and Meatballs (HEL-DFW), BBQ Chicken and mash potato (JFK-HEL) with snacks of Nasi Goreng. I have to say that the mains, while small have been of pretty decent quality but the lack of other service is noticable on longer flights.
On LHR-JFK with AA, you are served a meal, a snack and ice cream as well as free snacks available in the galley. On the much longer HEL-DFW it was lunch and a snack before landing with nothing in-between unless you wanted to pay.
