ok when you say inactivity are you referring to using the miles or the CC? We use the CC monthly to earn the points.. so if they expired due to not using the miles, can we get them back? Credit card spend earns American Airlines miles as well as Loyalty Points.
The miles accrued do not expire annually and those are what you use to redeem for flights.
Loyalty points expire annually. Loyalty points are used to determine your status; Gold, Plat etc.
As you hit certain levels with Loyalty points you unlock various benefits.
You should log into your account monthly to track your progress.
