Can't I just book a refundable ticket with points and cancel (or with cash for a refundable flight)? That's typically what I do to get into a lounge early. In which case I could do that in T4S?

Between the two layovers what would you recommend? Trying my hand at MAD lounges or crashing in a chair in AMS airport?
