No fast track at HKG for security on departure ( but quick anyway)
Cathay J from HKG-TPE could be regional
With BA Gold , First class check in at HKG ( or use intown check in) and the pier and wing F lounges at HKG as well as Qantas

Cathay lounge in TPE was good pre covid
Flight time relatively short
With BA gold ( OWE) I would probably stick with Cathay ( if prices were the same). Eva J may be cheaper
