I shall be spending some time in Hong Kong and would love to take the chance to visit Taiwan. I am planning to fly J and was wondering if you’d recommend Cathay over eva air on this route, cobsidering fast track, lounge and in flight experience. Many thanks!

No fast track at HKG for security on departure ( but quick anyway)
Cathay J from HKG-TPE could be regional
With BA Gold , First class check in at HKG ( or use intown check in) and the pier and wing F lounges at HKG as well as Qantas
Cathay lounge in TPE was good pre covid
Flight time relatively short
With BA gold ( OWE) I would probably stick with Cathay ( if prices were the same). Eva J may be cheaper
