Aeroplan 50K requires flying Air Canada?
Hi everybody,
I gather that achieving Aeroplan 50k (and hence: Star Alliance Gold) requires "Members can reach Aeroplan 50K status by spending $6,000 Status Qualifying Dollars (SQDs) and either flying 50 Status Qualifying Segments (SQSs) or 50,000 Status Qualifying Miles (SQMs)."
Does anybody know if that's a strict *and*, is it necessary to spend CAD6000 on Air Canada directly (Air Canada flights, I guess).
We're in Europe (and have bad experience with Aegean and Turkish) and do fly AC every now and then, but we clearly don't spend CAD6000 on AC flights /per year/. The qualification otherwise seems doable (much more so than Lufthansa/Swiss/Austrian in any case).
Thanks in advance!
