And another vote for San Diego.

My kids were slightly older when we took them - now adults. En route to the theme parks of Los Angeles, we spent a couple of days at the beach. They still talk about their visit to San Diego Zoo and the USS Midway. As it wasn’t their first visit to California, Disney etc seem to have been forgotten and just grouped into “theme parks of the world”!

We went back to San Diego in 2022. The airport is so much easier than LAX for entry and car rental too. There was also more Avios availability. Think you will have a great family holiday.
