On 05/13, CX 653 (HKG BKK, A32N) diverted from BKK to UTP (Pattaya) due to bad weather in Bangkok. Heard there was a lot of turbulence onboard while holding/maneuvering around the BKK area. Passengers were kept onboard at UTP for around 2.5 hrs, as the flight deck crew thought they would be able to take off again shortly after. However, due to safety concerns with the plane (I assume given that it was flying through such intense weather), CX decided to hold the plane for further safety tests, and bus all passengers (~2 hour drive) from UTP to BKK.

Per the captain, 11 planes diverted from BKK to UTP, but most have now departed back to BKK.
