If I’m not mistaken they were only forced to retire the older a380s due to COVID, which I think they might be regretting now seeing they’re now playing musical chairs with the remaining aircraft and swapping destinations constantly.

I would like to see your source that Boeing had confirmed delivery of the 777-9s to Cathay in 2025. Multiple airlines like Lufthansa and emirates are already forecasting deliveries to only commence in 2026 and they are airlines with airframes already built. Not sure if Boeing or Cathay are being delusional in this regard.

I would also like to see your source on SIA and scoot cancellations. 33 flights over the span of one week have been cancelled by scoot due to lack of spare parts, or so they claim. I wouldn’t put it past them that working conditions are bad and it’s an industry wide issue with manpower shortage, but this does not seem to be the problem for flight cancellations this time round, or so they claim. Singapore Airlines is not affected.
EK n LH are anticipating the delivery of 777X in 2026. Not sure where he got his source ? Right now we did not see any CX 777X in the production line.

for Scoot cancellation, 4 out of 6 new A320neo are out of action plus 9 A320ceo. Some last minute plane issue result in the cancellation, plus the weather the previous week caused lot of delay.
Thus there are some cancellations. 33 cancellations over 5 days which is around 6-7 per days (which is 3 round trips). A scoot plane can perform 2-3 short haul round trip per day. And the cancellations are KUL, BKK, SGN, HKG and some other regional destinations with multiples frequencies. And Scoot even reaccomodate some paxes to SQ flights.
