I realise that after my posting on the
Mulia from 2022 how I haven’t been posting for many years either trip reports or even hotel stays. So here I am trying to start it up again.
Stayed here in early 2023 with multiple rooms, and no status. Please bear in mind that some of what I comment here is out of date. I realise that, but hopefully you will still find some of it useful.
What I didn’t realise at the time was there was a lot of construction work going on. I think there was renovation that had been delayed because of covid.
This meant that check in was done in a side part of the building rather than in the reception area itself.
Our room was in the main building near reception rather than in the cliff side tower. The state of the rooms was … ok. Felt like they required quite a bit of maintenance. I suspect this was mainly the result of the covid delays. An example of this is that in one room the cupboard door actually fell off the roller and could have injured someone. Another example was when part of the facade of the sink fell. Fortunately no one was in the bathroom at the time.
We didn’t have breakfast included as we had other morning plans. But the one morning we did have breakfast it was really great. A huge number of options both international as well as Indonesian.
The pool-side venue sells a bunch of really tasty food. One observation of the pool was there are no lifeguards. Now I don’t believe you should be in the water if you can’t swim but if you have a medical emergency in the water, I would feel a whole lot better with a lifeguard present. They can get you out of the pool safely and begin life saving treatment until an ambulance arrives. When I stayed at the
Mulia there were lifeguards everywhere.
The Balinese restaurant “Paon” was very good. We went there for dinner on two separate occasions.
Rather than post photos you can see some shots of the rooms and the rest of the hotel and food
