AA 951 (JFK-GRU-GIG) -- Why Such A Long Ground Time in GRU?

Looks like I'll be flying on AA 951 from JFK to GIG the Friday of President's Day weekend (VIP upgrade pending). I've noticed that the aircraft has nearly a two hour ground time at GRU before continuing on the very short flight to GIG. This seems unnecessarily long to me. I've flown SCL-GRU-GIG on LAN and its ground time in GRU is around 30 minutes.

Anyone know the reason for the long ground time in GRU?

Also, are transit passengers able to leave the aircraft and access the GRU AC during the transit? On LAN, we were not able to leave the aircraft, but it was a much shorter stopover.

Thanks!
