In my conversations with Audaline it was obvious to me that she knew Aman very well and what it "should" be. To your point on, I do think she would be phenomenal as a GM of Soneva or Six Senses, as I found her style more relaxed, sort to speak. However, to be fair to her, to manage a resort like Amanpulo or an island like Pamalican rather.... in Aman fashion.... is almost an impossible task, especially if the property is not generously supported. This is the running theme with Aman. The properties that are supported well via owner, aman, etc, fare better. Needless to say, I had three really memorable stays with Audaline.

I got the impression was she/her team was very limited and did very well with the resources provided. Governing an island like Amanpulo is to be GM, mayor and shrink all at the same time. I am not sure who would be the right person for that position or for how long. But certainly someone who understands Aman, has specifically managed a luxury island resort, etc. and is looking to take on a long-term project.

In fact, I did hear from someone quite recently that Amanpulo has finally secured a new GM... who will be starting fairly soon...

I was also told F&B managers/directors from Aman Tokyo, will be heading to Pulo to assess and train the team. This is good news.
