Last I flew UA was way back in 2010! But now I'm booked on a trip to EU in August and a couple more to Asia the rest of the year.

In the old days, I used to use my middle initial on tickets, but dropped that initial eventually to make things simpler. When I booked my flights on UA, my name ended up appearing as my first name with my middle initial attached to it, for example "JohnM Smith". Not sure why the system removed the space between my first name and middle initial. The problem is, when I upload my passport info page, it keeps getting rejected because it is "John Smith" on the passport.

I called the Mileage Plus help line and they were able to 'change' my name to just "John Smith" on the flights that were all US domestic. For the flights involving LH and NH, etc., they said there was no way to change it other than to show my documents upon check in. The agent said he added notations on my tickets.

I could not upload anything to the Travel-Ready center! Anyone with a similar experience?
