I flew my elderly mother from YVR to TUO via AKL last July.
TUO and ROT flights were cancelled due to fog in AKL
New Zealand provided a coach service, which I turned my nose up at and scoffed, until we actually did it.The coach had large windows, massive legroom, and recline (I’m 6’4”).
The driver was excellent, saw lots of scenery I had not seen before, arrived safely at destination, albeit a few hours later.
NZ got us to final destination, which is what they were paid to do. Fog creates limitations beyond their control.

I did not expect a refund and why would I?
