i love hanging in the GH lounge after breakfast or before evening canapés for the view. Pre covid, lounge food was nice. I guess now, for me, we are just talking about gradations of inedible between the two.
My local buddies love when I stay at the GH because the sutter/stockton garage is right there and very reasonable.

I think the consensus of HR SOMA being better than GH overall is still correct. Further it will be dependent on what you value. For instance some have mentioned they don’t care about evening offerings, while breakfast is more important to them. In which case the HR SOMA breakfast is much better than GH.
I’d also add that the gym at HR SOMA is better/bigger than GH. Though as with the lounge, not great for the views.
There is the Hearst Garage across the street from HR SOMA. And there is also the 5th & Mission garage a long city block away. Depending on where your friends are coming from, they can also park at a BART garage and then just take BART to either the Powell or Montgomery.
