That's only on the Carbon and some newer "small and thin" models (unfortunately the T14s which is what we use as travel laptop in its latest iteration also joined that camp. If that trend continues we will likely switch away from those models for this reason) .
The regular T1x series continues to feature customer-replaceable keyboards that are held by two screws and can be replaced in less than one minute by anyone who knows their way around a screwdriver. Unskilled people take a bit longer, but really just a bit.
The T-series Thinkpads are designed for as workhorses for large multinational organizations with a broad need for different-language-keyboard support.

I`ve been using and supporting those things since the very beginning back in the IBM days more than 20 years ago (the series-founding IBM T20 which looks very much like what you can buy today came out in 2000), and can rightfully say that as far as serviceability and long-term parts support is concerned, the Lenovo-T-series is pretty much the gold standard among laptops.
