Have not stayed at the Kissel. The HC Mountain View and HR Santa Clara breakfast offer is items off a menu with a price cap on them. Far more limiting than the buffet that the HR SOMA has. And I think the HR SOMA buffet has a wide variety of items.
The “Globalist” menu at the HR Santa Clara for evenings seems to have been “simplified” - but the flatbread/pizza was pretty good.
They never mentioned a price cap to me at HC MTV. However I usually don't eat a huge breakfast anyway. Even when I order two items (parfait and one other item) they've always just comped the whole thing.
What I'm talking about is quality rather than quantity. I don't think the SOMA breakfast is bad but the quality of the items is less than some other Hyatts I've stayed at in the Bay Area, to my taste anyway.
