I agree with 777 needing refurbishments ASAP. Paying the amount of money EVA is asking for J class now days does not match up with what is being offered.

I've done YVR-TPE once, & TPE-YYZ twice in the past month. The 777 seats are pretty much worn out. When you truly lie flat you can feel the back support frame, very uncomfortable. I had adjust to about 85-90% flat to make it feel a bit more comfortable. Even the onboard wifi is crappy/spotty and could use an upgrade.

I've had no issues getting 1A at the check-in/gate when I requested it. There must be less deadheading pilots/cabin crew on long haul flights.

The 787-10s I flew from NRT-TPE (twice) are nice with much better hard product since the planes are 5 years old or less.

In terms of soft products, there are things lacking as well. I have a long list but I guess my expectation has changed since 5 years ago when I last was on a EVA's 777 J class flight.
