I'm a bit crazy, but if time isn't an issue then I'd actually prefer to backtrack to DFW to get more sleep. JFK-LHR is a six hour flight as you said, which gives you about 3-3.5 hours of sleep. DFW-LHR, on the other hand, allows you to have a full meal and still sleep for 6 hours.
you still end up with the issue of a very short connection once you get to LHR, if you push that flight out you end up with four additional hours in LHR and you will only have access to a lounge which tends to be rather crowded, CCR you have to be flying first on BA or have high BA status, if you fly BA metal rather than AA you end up paying the famed BA fees,
