I stayed here back in 2022 but haven’t had an opportunity to write a review until now.
There have been some questions about whether this is a luxury hotel or not. I can say that I really enjoyed my time there.
One of the problems with Bali is that it’s a really lovely place with lovely people and wonderful food but when it gets crowded it becomes a mad house. For example, getting to and from Ubud from the south of the island has almost always been a nightmare of traffic jams for me.
This is what brings me to the Mulia. I’ve been here a few times, but only stayed once. And it’s quite rare that I’ve found it to be crowded, whether in the facilities, the restaurants, in the pool or at the beach. I think this space plays quite a large role in what is a luxury experience.
Anyway, back to the rest of the hotel. There are three sections: the Mulia, the Mulia Resort, and the Mulia Villas. They’re like three different experiences within one hotel.
The Mulia is the upmarket hotel section, the Mulia Villas is (as the name suggests) the private villa section while the Mulia Resort is much more like your standard beach hotel.
I'm still compiling my experience of the hotel and will post it here shortly. While you're waiting you can find a short video of the place here:
