Nope, I spoke to people in the UKEC and they said as I had started my itinerary they couldn't change the ticket

I knew from here that was perhaps poppycock though wasn't in the mood for fighting or arguing. The best they said they could do was to look up availablity for flights. I rang them at 2pm and got myself on the 10pm.
I had a 3hr drive to Dulles from where I was staying so I couldn't risk driving there for nothing, although I could have bought a ticket when I got there...my fault
I might just email the EC and see what kind of response I get, if anyone has an email that is not going to get to Ask BomBAy please drop me an email in my profile.

PS. Unusually it was running a 70 CW config and there seemed to be a large proportion of old dears in CW that perhaps required a AC change for the outbound.
