I definitely recommend Rabat. It's a very nice city. Definitely much more "sanitized" compared to the most touristic places, but I consider it more interesting and it's not invaded by all those tourist traps that are a plague in the hot touristic spots of Morocco. It's the capital city and you feel it.
It's perfect for a weekend.
