Excellent thread, read through the whole thing.

I'm heavily debating on going to takefue because I value the outdoor atmosphere and music, the vibes seem "magical".

How are they for bookings on short notice? Like 1 month or so out?

But I'm also conflicted because some of the newer ryokans seem much more modern, and have "nicer" rooms and furnishings.

Are there any modern/newer ryokans that can compete with the "magical forest" vibes that takefue has.. I value the outside atmosphere just as much as the rooms being modern, or should I just go with takefue over the more modern options? I saw some posted here earlier that opened in 2023, and one that opened in 2021 or was remodeled then at least.
