All airlines are experiencing problems with delivery delays, especially from Boeing.

I believe that the only CX current orders for pax widebodies are 21 777-9X which were initially supposed to be delivered from 2021 to 2024, then delivery starting 2024, then 2025 and now 2026 if we believe the CEOs of EK and LH.
Hence, CX is not in a comfortable position and needs to delay retirement of its existing aircraft (possibly renew leases). Tough decisions to make and uncertainty about future schedules. SInce covid CX has been very slow, and somewhat unreliable, in updating its schedules.

SQ has completely renovated its "old" A380 fleet, investing $850 millions, and most of the big A380 customers (EK, BA, LH,..) do the same.. That's a clear indication that the delay in getting new widebodies is creating havoc in schedules.
