Like others I was less than pleased to receive the e-mails about my HND flight next Jan especially as I had picked the flight based on the CS being available. Ironically, I received the messages while on a 789 in a Club 'Classic' seat. It was my first reacquaintance with them in 5 years and while adequate do lack in may areas and particularly on a 14hr flight.
I've resisted looking at alternatives immediately as I knew they would be a discussion here. It seems either sit tight and hope for a refurbished 788 on the basis that it's one of BA's longest and more premium flights or switch to the 789 and be guaranteed a old CW seat but the potential of FLUB.
Interestingly, the 77W flights had sold quicker in CW than the 789 flight and with all I & D availability gone were costing 2x the 789 flight on the same day. Some indication of the market views of CW vs CWS perhaps.
Any views on the likely numbers of CWS refurbished 788 in the fleet by Jan?
