Just wanted to re-share a little 'hack' that helped me secure more than one seat on Gulf Air yesterday, despite the booking system only showing 1 seat.

After doing some digging around availability it seemed that many others could also only see '1 seat available' on Air Canada for Gulf Air. However, one person on here realised that they could book one seat, go back to the booking page and book another. This seemed kinda risky to me as if it didn't work I'd be left with some valuable AMEX points in my Air Canada account.. that said I thought it was worth the risk as I'd surely be able to find another itinerary to book using AC later down the line.

I went for it. Transferred 45k Aeroplan miles from my AMEX which hit the account instantly. I went ahead and searched for the route, putting only one passenger in the filters. Then sure enough, after booking my first ticket, I went back to the availability page and the option was there to book another single seat. Result!

I plan now to try to see if they'll link the bookings just in case, however I'm happy to have secured the seats (LHR-BAH-DXB).
