I already transferred points to Ana in anticipation for the return but wondering if I need to look for backup
To answer my question, I ended up transferring points and managed to book 4J on dates on yyz to lis that air Canada did not show the same seats available
Also had point of sale issues with air China, where Ana US website could see Pek HND in J but Ana Japan website could not. I managed to get my booking done through the LA call centre and the Japan call centre could not change my dates after ticketing as they didn't see the seats that I saw. When calling the LA call centre the next day, the agent could see the 4 seats Pek to HND but could not grab it as it gets unconfirmed after a minute while recalculating taxes.
Turkish married segments are also super glitchy. On one of the Fridays for OPO-IST-hkg Ana multi city showed 4 seats available, but Ana agent said requesting 4 ended up getting error message exceed sales limit. The day before on Thursday did not have the same error, but when I tried to change back to Friday post ticketing, LA agent says she can only see 3 available even when I saw 4 on Ana multi city
So in the end I feel like my dates are pretty locked out than the first flight out and the last flight back HND to YVR
Total taxes yyz-lis-opo-ist-hkg-pek-hnd-yvr worked out to be around 1250 USD per person
