I tried again to contact HH (through email and chat) and they basically said they can't do anything.
I would like to either get my FNCs extended (they expire in August I believe) or help with an alternate booking. I was thinking the Tempo, but standard awards aren't available anymore for the date I'm interested in, and the rooms are considerably smaller so I was hoping to get upgraded to a larger room to compensate.
It seems like this is a special circumstance worth escalation up the chain, but I have no idea how to push things up the chain. Any ideas? Any similar past experiences?
I had a FNC booking at this same hotel when it went under renovation pre-pandemic (2019 maybe?). The hotel closed temporarily and canceled my stay. No offer to go to another hotel or anything. I actually had to call the hotel directly several times to get them to release my certificate. Even though they cancelled, it didn’t release my cert back to me automatically. Hilton probably can’t or won’t do much to help you out. I would just make sure you get your certificate(s) issued back to you and try to find another option yourself. With Waldorf still closed and this Conrad leaving, NYC just isn't a great spot for Hilton FNCs right now.
as far as Hilton extending your FNCs, I have had limited success with that asking for a few weeks, but nothing more. But YMMV. Others have had no such luck.
