Interesting data point to share. I received some tier points from my BAH that got me over the line for GGL - yea! The points credited and I received the GGL email the same day (May 8th). Today also happens to be my Tier Point year end. I called up the GGL to check if I could use my very soon to expire jokers and the agent said that in your first year as GGL you can carry over one joker over to the following year. Not sure if this is a new thing as prior upthread it seemed to be a use it or lose it type thing.

I can imagine that many people earning 5k TPs for the first time do so with only a couple of months left at most so quite difficult to use 2 jokers unless you have a good plan!
My wife recently re-attained GGL after losing it just before covid. The first contact was an email about the partner cards then a GGL welcome email the day after.
She also received a telephone call and a special message from the crew on her flight that attained the required TPs.
I have already had enough and am moving out.
I thought "
super rare and enviable" was quite funny, if a little over-colloquial for such hallowed status...!
