Stay in...
April 2024 (trying to catch up and contribute here!)
What is your IHG One Rewards status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle
- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, was quite happy with the (two) stay(s).
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked — 1 KING PREMIUM CITY VIEW
Got — Junior Suite
(on the second stay due to issues, I ended up in a One Bedroom Suite)
- How are the rooms?- Quite airy, big.
- 2 bottles of water (branded);
- Elegant and modern design (except for the IMO cheap looking pixelated pic on the top of the bed);
- INCREDIBLE views (has to be the #1 characteristic here);
- Comfortable bed and pillows (multiple types provided);
- Nice bathroom with Le Labo as always;
- Some sort of weird control thing near the bed to control the room temperature and lights that is just hard to use;
- How is the exec. lounge?
Very good (again, great views!). Enjoyed a nice breakfast there with a somewhat limited selection of cold/hot points but a large choice off the à la carte menu.
- Loyalty Recognition
Good! Upgrade to Junior Suite.
Was asked what I preferred for welcome amenity - the points I selected posted instantly.
In-room fruit and bottled water and letter from GM.
- What was good and what was bad?
GOOD- GREAT service by the lounge staff. I had two stays and she remembered my name from the first and went above and beyond on any request I had;
- GREAT views of the city throughout the room and hotel;
- No problems (contrary to recent reports) with charges. Amenity/Resort fee was promptly removed and one consumption from minibar also included in that (thus not charged); All charges were fine;
- Nice modern rooms with superb views;
- Had an issue on the 2nd stay where an annoying noise coming from electrical close to the bed made it impossible to continue. They accommodated me in a different room and upgraded me in the process;
- Good downtown location.
BAD (or I should say... LESS GOOD):- The elevator switching thing. You have to go to level 72 (I think) and then switch to go back to your room. Quite annoying if you go up and down a few likes like I did.
- The need for upkeep and maintenance starts to be felt in some areas.
- Reception is pretty sterile in terms of service. Absolutely no one offered to carry bags etc. I imagine this is my "Asia" side speaking
- Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
I liked it quite a bit. A good property in NA and for NA standards. The rate wasn't crazy (at around $300/night) and I'd return!
