Is is really necessary to wait 12 months? What points would they claw back, given that the points have already gone into the Marriott account? I have a card 10+ months post-upgrade and would like to cancel now because the AF has come due, based on the opening date of the original SPG (later Bonvoy) card that was upgraded to the Bevy.
