I tried to see if I will get approved for the Venture card on the pre-approval tool and came to this as one of the last steps. The part about processing my application using my SSN made me pause. It sounded like it is about to process my applying for a C1 card, even though I started on the pre-approval tool at https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/preapprove/

That and the fact that I do not know how accurate the pre-approval tool is.

For those who have used the pre-approval tool, is it a hard inquiry on your profile? And how accurate has Capital One pre-approval tool has been in your experience?
