A relative is flying from Tehran (IKA) to IST to YVR, on two separate PNRs with Turkish Airlines.

Is it possible to connect the two segments, so that she can have her luggage transferred from the IKA-IST segment to the IST-YVR segment?

Otherwise she will have to collect luggage and go through security and checkpoints again?

To make things slightly complicated, the IKA-IST is a cash fare and the IST-YVR is a reward ticket on Aeroplan (Star Alliance).
