Or will I need to enter Spain, go back to T4, and reverse to get back to T4S for my departing flight? Thanks!
It also depends on if you have any checked-in bags and if these transfer. Iberia has always been unwilling to transfer bags for flights on different tickets in my experience, and bags from T4S come out in T4, so if you have checked bags, this will require passing through immigration, picking up the bags and then checking in with AA, passing through immigration again and back to T4S. Immigration lines can be about 1 hour long in each direction so although I think you'll be fine with a 4 hour connection, you may well spend a lot of this in lines depending on what passport you're holding. Immigration lines for European nationals are short.
