That’s sad. I didn’t realize the service standard on a transcon had changed from two beverage services to just one.

I don't know if I'd say that the norm on redeyes, but IME FAs don't make a big production of the morning beverage service because at 90-60 mins out, many people still want to sleep. IME though, most FA's at least try to take a peek for who is awake and ask them quietly, or make themselves available for passengers to ask them if they have any requests. YMMV.
Oops, I was actually meaning to reply to the post referencing one beverage service on a (daytime) westbound transcon out of PHL.
I did recently have a JFK-LAX where there was only one beverage service + a water run, but I wasn’t sure whether it was a new service standard or just the FAs being lazy.
